it's actually WINDOWS 2000 , but in regards to which update I need for AVG, I'm not sure....seems I have 3 different versions on my desktop all which aren't 100% functional and I'm not sure if they are to be removed or just updated and which one!! or if I should completely remove them all and download it again......?

Yes do that. If it for whatever reason fails follow these instructions.
When the removal is finished I suggest the following : Download install and update Ccleaner After installing and updating go to options - advanced and tick prompt for registry back ups Now Start up in safe mode Do two runs 1) Click on problems and tick all. Click on analyse. At the end you will be prompted for storing a backup. This will be stored, as a default, in My documents. 2) Click on cleaner click on analyse and accept all files to be removed. -------------------- ![]() Free antivirus : AVG Free Free Anti-spyware AVG Anti Spyware Free Firewall :Zone Alarm Ccleaner Ad aware & Manual SpybotS&D&Manual Free Handy programs |

Make sure you have the LATEST version of AVG (7.5 range); earlier versions are no longer supported by AVG.

Got WHAT?
IF you found a solution to your problem, please post it so other Members who have the same problem, or a similar one, can be helped by it. That way we all can contribute to the common stock of knowledge here at BC. Cheers, John -------------------- Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one should be silent.
