For Christmas I got The Sims 2 Pets and when I put the disk in, it spun for about 3 seconds, the green light on the drive flashed a few times, and it stopped. I tried another CD in my computer and that ran fine. I tried running The Sims 2 Pets manually, but nothing at all happened. Clicking on the CD drive it's in just tells me to insert a CD. I tried the CD in the two other computers in my house (one had a DVD drive and the other a normal CD ROM drive) and it worked in both. I tried for weeks to get it to work with no success. I ended up giving up and renduring it a lost cause.
Today I tried to install the software that came with my Wacom Tablet, but the same thing happens. I put the disk in the drive, it spins for about 3 seconds, the green light flashes a few times and then stops.
I'm thinking that it might have to do with the CDs having some sort of copywrite protection on them and my computer not allowing them to run, but if its that I have no idea what so ever on how to get rid of that, or find out if that's the case. If running HijackThis and posting a log might help, let me know. Because otherwise I have no idea what I could do.
By the way I have a Dell and I'm running Windows XP. I don't know if that's needed, but I figured I'd say just in case.
