BleepingComputer.com: My Network Places - Application Error?

When I try to open My network connections I get a error message.

explorer.exe Application error
The instruction at "0x77c47464" refferenced memory at "0x00183154" the memory could not be "read"

When i got the pc (about one year ago) i networked my old gateway to this new HP to transfer files I had a hard time doing this it took many tries with the network setups, i didnt really know what i was doing. But it did work.
I dont use networking much so i dont know when this started
I just set up a new network to add my laptop so i can get to the files on my HP. I was able to set up the network. The laptop can get to the HP but The HP can not open my network places?? I couldnt open my network places but i was able to use the network set up.

May be related but im not sure when using Bear Share It will shut down and give me a error message bearshare.exe application error but the refference numbers are "0x00000000 and 0x00000000"

The Timings on your memory could be entered wrong in the bios (Not likely). Go to Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer and look the the System and Application areas. Please post any errors found here.

If i continue to try my network places it will open after a few failures. When going through my network it seems very slow and sometimes has a "not responding" and i have to close it
