Combine Dvi And Rca? Use two different jacks for audio and video

This is actually a tv question I guess, but could be applied to computers in the same way, and frankly, I don't want to sign up for another forum for this question. :thumbsup:

Anyway, here goes. I'm going to be sending audio from my computer to my tv with a 3.5mm --> 2 rca jack cable, and sending video to my tv with a dvi --> hdmi cable. They both work alright(after testing), but I'm wondering if it would be possible to actually use two different jacks for audio and video. So you know, it's not like I'm using the yellow + red + white rca, im ONLY using the red + white. So, no video is going over via rca cable, it is only doing via hdmi (actually dvi from computer). See what I mean?

Basically, can I select on the tv two different options for audio and video, or do I have to use just one for both?

), yes. I've done it before with a few different peices of equipment (DVD player, VCR, playstation 2, playstation 1, xbox, nintendo game cube etc. etc.), where I run the video right to the back of the TV and the audio to the surround sound receiver, or the sound to the tv and the video to the surround sound reciever. It'll work fine, although you might have to "play" with the buttons on the tv to get the audio or video to come up (like with my NES, I have to have the surround sound on Tape 1 and the TV on Video 2). I don't really see any issues with this at all! :flowers:
