BleepingComputer.com: Two Audio Problems

Two Questions, both audio related. First of all, when burning music files to a CD, I notice that you loose all the data such as the name of the artist. Is there any way of preventing this, or to put the data back yourself? Secondly, The sound level of individual tracks copied from various CDs tends to be higher or lower, and you need to adjust the volume as you play each track. Is there any program that can correct the problem so you have a more balanced level on each of the tracks?

It is possible to save these details, its know as CD-Text. Its an extension of the Red Book Compact Disc specifications standard for audio CDs. It allows for storage of additional information (e.g. album name, song name, and artist) on a standards-compliant audio CD.

Your CD-writer has to have this feature built in, and your burning software has to allow this feature.
