Give us some more information on the computer. Type(Desktop or laptop), make, and model.

JUst go to help and support at dells web site and look up the machine by the service tag number. dell has an excellent set of user manuals online with complete instructions, step by step on how to change the cd rom, and about any thing else that a user can change.

Does the warranty include in-home service? It did at one time for Dell desktops.

the warranty is not clear. i have asked them to come and change it themselves but haven't got anywhere yet. it's just if i change it ,then it could cause other problems and they could blame me for 'incorrect installation'' couldn't they?
