im trying to find out what it would cost me to build a computer with comperable parts, (im trying to figure out why the machines cost 4,000 to start with.) besides for the fancy case and fancy to the max water cooling nothings really that expencive, besides the mother board wich is the only thing that they dont metion the specs about

I'd guess it is either 680i SLI or 590 SLI based, at $200-$300 price range. The reason for the price is that it is a VoodooPC computer. It is the computer-world equivalent of a Ferrari, with the brand and all associated bragging rights and customer service.

i guess, i also found that the computers cpu costs around 850 dollars. (god damn) its a quad core so i guess its cool but its also almost unnessisary. but i guess whats nessisary about a ferari right?

But I'd love it!




You're right, unless you are planning one crazy server, quad-core is pretty much useless. In the future though, multi-thread processing will become more and more common. We're pretty much at the limit with clock speeds, that's the reason for the push to dual and multicore today.
