I recently reformatted my computer and upgraded my memory and video card to try and get some newer games working better. Most of the games I am playing with are not that new: Battlefield 2, Day of Defeat Source, Call of Duty 2, and Company Of Heroes. I have an AGP slot, so that limits me a bit on my video choices. I tried a Geforce 7600 256 mb card which should have done the job, but I had a lot of performance issues out of it. I am thinking that it may have just been a bad card, because when I put my old ATI Radeon 9600 back in, I am running better that I was with the newer card. Anyway, I have returned the 7600 and I am wondering what to try next. I really want to make the right choice here, so I hope there is someone out there that can give me some good advice. Thanks so much for your help, here is some of my technical info, and some links to 4 of the cards that I am considering.
My Info:
P4 2.4 ghz processor on an ASUS P4V8X-X motherboard running on WINXP home edition.
1 gig of PC3200 DDR memory.
ATI 9600 128 mb video and Creative SBLive 24 bit external audio.
420 watt power supply.
These are the 4 AGP cards that I am torn between.
