everything should work with the drivers that come already on the hardware you shouldnt have to install anything. As for the OS makes sure you dont have a windows Oem disk or else im not sure if you can reuse them.

definitely need to redo the links.
just a thought, 1GB of DDR2 RAM is good, but remember that DDR2 RAM runs better in pairs. this site provides some evidence. so if you want to maximize 1GB, and don't plan on increasing anytime soon, get the gig in tandem. do you already have a hard drive? power supply? cheers -------------------- "Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal." -Albert Camus

I am adding all this to my current working computer that is Windows Xp Service pack 2. Just if you didn't know. I'm not making a brand new computer from scratch.

It may as well be a new computer. You're replacing the main parts.
I'd check and make sure everything is compatible. You probably have an ATA hard drive, and I'd assume that uses SATA. Case should be fine, and I don't know what other components will be shared. Should be okay. If you're using the same hard drive, you may not be able to boot Windows. It'll detect the hardware changes, and lock down on you. I don't know for sure. Someone will have to confirm that. |

Here's a tip. Intel has already released the E4300...
http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2903 Now soon, they will update the E6300 and E6400 so that they both have 4MB of L2 Cache. And in a month, the price for the E4300 will drop to around $140 US. If you can wait just a bit longer, you can get a better deal on the processor.
