I think that the new SATA II Raptors are significantly faster than the older 74 gB one's (seems so on my system at least). I'd expect them to be smokin' in RAID 0 (I may end up trying that myself) with a hardware controller. They come in 150 gB sizes - but I never filled the 36 or the 74 gB Raptors that I had before.

The 74GB Raptor, with only two platters, should be a tad faster than the 150GB with its four. But I doubt you'd notice the difference outside benchmarking.
