Ikernel.exe Problem

I am trying to install a game through a purchased CD and I am getting the error

The installshield engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. The RPC Server is unavailable.com

What do I do?

but no matter what im trying to install, if it uses installshield, ig et that error message.
