A while back my AVG Free isolated a virus into the "virus vault" and it's been there ever since. Can I get rid of it from there or just what is the proper precedure for dealing with it? I'm not having any problems and the computer runs fine so I haven't worried about it but since I found this site I thought I look into it further.

Specifics on the item are:

Thanks!

Hi Tom804, :flowers:

Right click AVG icon in your task bar > Launch AVG Test Center > Virus Vault > Action > Empty Vault.

Allthough anything in there is safe it's better to empty the vault regularly.

When a program quarantines a file or moves it into a virus vault, it is safely held there under you take action to delete it. The reason for doing this is to prevent deletion of an essential file that may have been flagged as a "false positive". You could then restore the file. Doing this also allows you to view and investigate the files while keeping them from harming your computer. Thus, quarantine is just an added safety measure. You can always delete them afterwards.
