Strange Problem.

Another way to do it is to redirect it to a text file.

c:>ping yahoo.com >c:\pingtest.txt

Then open the text file and copy and paste.

That matches what I see when I try and ping it. What is your internet connection? Dial up, DSL, or cable? Are you connecting through a router? If so have you reset the router?

Do you have firefox or opera? Do you have a firewall, even XPs built in one?

A few things to try. Turn off the windows firewall and see if that fixes it. Try Firefox and see if you get the same results.

Turn off your cable modem and your computer for 5 full minutes. Bring cable back up and bring PC back up. Try site again.

iv'e tried that.its very very weird.no one can work it out.thanks for your help appreciate it.
btw.is it possible for a virus to block access to one particular site ?.ive done a scan.and my p.c seems clean.

Yes but more likely this is an issue with your ISP. I would call them and explain it to them.

If you can reproduce the same results with different computer then it for certain a problem with your ISP.

Aound the time this started did you install any antispyware like Spybot, SpywareGuard, Defender? Have you checked the blocked sites in IE?

no ive not installed anything.
and yes ive checked blocked sites.
