so i was browsing thru the best buy ad yesterday and i was looking through the Routers and modems page. and their gaming router, which is usually 70 or so dollars, is $30 this week.

now for some time i havent been able to play online with my ps2 unless i plug it into the back of my router. i feel like i've tried everything.
Under the description of the gaming router it says it works with teh ps2 and the 360 and you just connect the two(console and router)

so can anyone else share some more info or personal experiences they've had with gaming routers?

thanks

EDIT: i just looked at it again and it says "A/G wireless gaming adapter" is it teh same thing?

Sorry, no personal experience with this particular subject, however....I'd like to point out Best Buys product guarantee...Buy something from them and if it doesn't perform to your satisfaction, take it back for a no questions ask full refund. Simply put, you can buy it, try it...if it doesn't do what it says it does, then take it back and tell them "it doesn't do what it says it does", they should give you a full refund. Ask a sales associate about it...ask "This says it'll work with a PS2. If it doesn't, can I return it for a full refund?". They should say yes. Write down the associates name, just in case anyone gives you any flack about it should you return it, you can say "Well, Stevealmighty (just an example of course...using my name will get you no place fast!) said that I could return this if it didn't work like it said it would, and it doesn't, so I'm returning it". If they give you more flack, ask for a member of management and tell them that this is poor customer service. With all that said, I've returned a few things to Best Buy, and have yet to have a problem. I even returned something becuase I didn't like the color of it...and I even told them that, and still got my full refund!

Hope this helps!

Im guessing its made by linksys, Maybe?

I personally have used a gaming router, and have found that it is amazing,

a year or so ago I went out and bought a regular xbox, beacuse my coworker was really into halo 2, And I wanted to share a few games iwth him, basically, get really good and eventualyl kill him, in order to do that, I was forced to buy a router, And a wireless gaming card

these things work amazingly, if setup right

first thing you should know, I believe, that you need to have a specific router on your computer end, In order for htis to work

IE I think if you get the "A/G" wireless, you need to have a G router plugged into your internet..could be wrong, It might just be for peak performance but that's what I know

secondly, Make sure your wireless router on your computer end is firewalled, Since you don't want someone jacking your connection through that,

finally, Enjoy! beuase if you have set eveyrthing up right, You should have no issues whatsoever with it, maybe a bad connection every now and then, but that's it

when I did my shopping I eventually paid around 500 bucks for everything including console game and routers, but, if you really enjoy gaming on consoles its well worth it!
