For transfering from you cam to PC there are a few things you need to consider.
- How will you connect your cam to PC? USB, FireWire, S-Video
- Is your computer suitable enough to hold uncompressed video
- Whether or not you use free or brought software (quality and features differ alot)
Hope that helps!

If all else fails, hit the reset button.

You'll need a capture card to record video from your camera to your pc. You can get these cards from about any hardware retail site. I've heard good things about this card [url=http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_pvr150.html]HERE[/url (Hauppauge pvr150 capture card). It'll run you about $60 on newegg.com. Review it, to ensure that it will do everything that you want though (of course, you should review everything before you buy it!). Personally, I work with someone who has one of these, and he loves it. He captures video from a VCR and from an older cam corder with no problems, and then copies them to DVD.
You might find something cheaper, but be sure to read any comments about any product you buy, as some capture cards are not all their cracked up to be and can easily freeze the program or your computer when recording.
Hope this helps!
