Sorry I misunderstood you

I was able to access the drive through Start, Run, but was unable to find it under explore. The CD Drive is also accessible though Run, but not through Explore.

At least you have a workaround by using the Start, Run method...let's try to find a fix...

Download and install PowerToys(TweakUI) from the Microsoft Website -

Info - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx
Direct download - http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c...wertoySetup.exe

After the program is installed....
Open the program from the Powertoys for Windows XP folder under your Start menu.
Double click My Computer(left hand side)
Click Drives
Ensure that your external drive is checked ON under the drives listed.

I am not sure that this will do anything, but it worth a try before start getting into registry fixes, and/or Windows repairs.

Looks like that finally did it. The drive now appears properly under 'My Computer.'

Thanks for all you help!
