On my home PC (WIN XP SP2, IE7) I have the host file set up to block a number of websites, and it's great! No more ads on most websites incl. Yahoo, etc. When you go to a webpage, you see in the sized box where an ad is supposed to be the "page not found" dialog. Nothing else happens
However on my new Laptop (Also WIN XP SP2 IE7) I have it set to do the exact same thing, and instead of the page not found error showing up in the box like it does on my other PC, the browser automatically goes forward to a page not found. So I have to click the back button to see the page I wanted. It isn't putting the page not found in the little box at the top of the page or whereever the ad is supposed to be.
Do I have to change a registry setting I missed? I seem to recall when I did it on my home PC there was a change and Ive missed it on this one. (Either Reg or something else).
Thanks in advance.
