Hey Guys,

I've been away at boarding school for 3 months, and have just come back home to find that my Half Life 2 copy isnt working. On attempting to start it i get the error 1606: could not acess desktop location. I get the same error when i try to uninstall it to free up some space.

I'm running Windows XP SP2, so yeah, any help is appreciated!
thanks!
Alex

Have you tried uninstalling it using Add & Remove programs in the control panel? Also, have you tried to just install it? Perhaps some one deleted the file while you were gone, or moved it, which is messing up the shortcut paths that the game has installed.

Let us know how you make out with this, and we'll continue to help you (if needed)!

Good luck
