This is my second post, so bare with me, as I try to explain what I am looking for, and please forgive me if this gets posted in the wrong forum.

Let me explain what I am looking for:

I am looking for remote control or remote administration of computers. I know there are tons out there, some free, some paid versions.

I could use recommendations of any software that you use along with urls to look at them.

Currently I am looking at the following:

I have, use, and like RealVNC. It is easy to use and can be configured to for a LAN or over the internet. The paid version has encryption and both free and pay versions are simple to set up. What type of environment will it be used in? Between two LANs or from LAN to computer?

I use UltraVNC. It has the ability to create a custom exe that I can have a client download and run, connecting them to only me. After I close the connection the exe is removed memory. I just have them leave it on the desktop until they need my help. Since the connection is initiated from the customer, firewalls aren't a huge problem and I don't have to hassle them trying to find their IP and unblock or forward ports (in the case of a router).

This is the only RealVNC derivative that I've found to support all the common compression methods as well as native File Transfers between any client running UltraVNC. TightVNC says they support it, but I've never been able to do it. UltraVNC worked right out of the box with that, and since it supports TightVNC/RealVNC anyways I switched our company over.

I operate a help desk myself in the way that I just described in my previous post. I put the UltraVNC SC file on all PC's, and then I leave the UltraVNC server running in Listen mode on my system. All they do is run the file and I take over their system -- nothing has to be installed (except for on my PC). You can even have the executable file prompt them with a list of available technicians, or have it auto-connect to a single person. It is very well-documented.

I use both LogMeIn and pcAnywhere (both on a limited basis) and they do everything that I need. Each requires a bit of setup on the Host, but once that's done they're relatively trouble free.
