I installed and tried WD for 2 weeks, and it didn't stop any spyware/malware. So I switched back to Ewido. Good luck to anyone who wants to keep Defender.

Were you purposely throwing malware at it? Or did it just not report anything? Is it possible you werent being affected by any malware?

It just wasn't catching anything. I re-installed ewido, now avg, and it found 80 spyware. And no, I wasn't throwing spyware at it, but I know that my brother visits some questionable sites. It did catch some, but it wasn't the majority.
