Bleeping Computer is a community where people come together to help one another fix any problem which may arrise on their systems. This is the theme of this site. Help one another, and share your wealth of experience. I read posts here and I am so glad to see that you have gotten your problems fixed. It shows that the people here are here to help you and the advice was well reported to you. The problem seems to be that many of you get your problems fixed and you then post back saying: Ok.. I fixed it (on my own), thanks The problem got taken care of or... something else to that nature. How are other people going to learn from your fixes if you don't post back here what you did to fix your problem? People are always wanting answers, and with posts/replies like above will only make people wonder what you did to fix it. Please explain EXACTLY as much as possible what you did. It could be a new and informative way to do something that has never been discussed before. Don't just get your own stuff fixed and leave everyone else out in the open. Explain how you fixed it, because people want to know... "Well, how did he do it?" Don't hold back on information that can help others,,, because the information here has helped you. We've all come here for help, and we aught to provide it in return, even in the form of explaining how you got a problem fixed. -------------------- Walkman

Must agree with you, on this one,Walkman.I am as green as grass when it comes to the finer points of PC's.
I read posters problems, and follow all the posts to the very end, only to find the original poster hasn't got the common decency to tell us how he fixed it.Or if the help from this forum did in fact solve his or her problems. It should be a stipulation that they agree to give us feedback, in my opinion.Members of this forum are helping untold numbers of PC users, each and every time they unselfishly give their valuable expertise and time for free, and BC members at least deserve a reply, and also a big thankyou.  After all the alternative which they have, is to take their PC to a repair shop,or get some over rated Techy to come to their home at a stupid rate per hour,who spends half the time drinking your coffee and on their cell phone making further appointments.It's happened to me on occasions. This topic is so dead on with explaining the heart and soul of what Bleeping Computer is. That I felt it needed to be "pinned" at the top of this forum. Thank You, Walkman for a very well said statement that needs to be seen, by everyone. Being "pinned" it won't slowly "die" away and be buried after a few weeks.

What makes science and indeed civilisation possible is that we constantly add to the available common stock of knowledge. In its own way, and in a somewhat limited but important area of human endeavor, BC attempts to do just that.
Obviously, providing feedback about what worked, which solution proved easiest, or even what solution found elsewhere worked, members can validate the solution or add important information; this certainly increases this stock in important ways that will help all computer users. I was not so certain how to post a bit of good fortune however this commentary is not so foreign to my concerns as even they appear elsewhere,that is in other related forums.It has proven true, often enough whereby there are neither post backs nor are there imaginative efforts made to offset the same old kind of question of a top 40 mentality that the expressed opinion originally stated here has met with an affirmative in these quarters as well.This goes almost without saying but we must remind each other that say it we must.It is necessary and I might add important that the contribution be of a mutual consent and with the computing community in general being the ultimate benificiary,however I do enjoy a real solution and even more so a well earned won as well.

I agree. That's what I'm going to do when i get home. I'm going to DETAIL what i did to fix it, and not keep it to myself, like some girls will do. That is keep important details secret, things that they should share, although maybe not so EXPLICITLY, but enough for guys to get the POINT so that they can MOVE ON WITH THEIR LIFE!!!! BECAUSE IF YOU KEEP IMPORTANT STUFF TO YOURSELF,,, EVERYONE SUFFERS!!!!

Hi, I fixed my PC from a virus attack. It shuts down in 3 seconds after the OS has loaded. What I did is to SLAVE the HD in another "clean" PC and tried to run an updated AVG 7.5 version. It had scanned lots of trojans etc. Now I can start my PC but it always tell an error saying: Windows can find the "scvvhost.exe. Please type the correct file name or file typed." How can I fix this problem? May I request some help from you guys. More thanks in advance.
