I'm probably, as usual, being a complete wally!!
However, I used to sit in bed with the laptop and headphones and watch a DVD using Windows Media Player 10. (OK there may have been some ice-cream and chocolate involved too!!). Suddenly, this proves to be impossible, with the media player announcing that I have "no codecs installed" on my laptop.
What the hell is all that about? I genuinely am not aware of making any changes at all, but as previously stated, i will concede to being a bit of an IT idiot!!
Enlightenment from any of you guys with brains out there would be much appreciated. Either where I can get these codecs, or another suitable free dvd player i could download would be most helpful.
cheers all
Tim

Hi Fozzie and many thanks for the reply.
Matter is still unresolved. Have installed WMP11, but this had no effect. I will take your advice, uninstall and then try to reinstall, and will let you know how i get on.
Cheers
