Are Trojans hitching a ride on youtube and google type video files?

I've no idea, but I've been hearing recently of people with Java enabled browsers having serious troubles after watching these videos.

Personally I don't like to have Java enabled but since there are so many sites that require it I find it very inconvenient to surf when it's disabled.
