Wisdom Teeth To Get Them Out Or Not To Get Them Out

He said them sitting on top of each other can cause wear and they need to go.
They dont hurt me now. Only 1 has shown through and not even all the way.
I may never need them out. The thing is I am on my parents insurance now and it will be free.
If I wait till after 18 and they need out it will be like 1000 bucks.
I am very very afraid of being gassed out or even having this done.
Eating slop for a week is not that exciting i'm sure.
I have had 3 teeth pulled and several drilled. I can choose not to get gassed out at a hospital and let the dentist pull them or cut them out with just a few shots. But some say this is worse.
I just dont want to do it period. I hate people messing with my mouth.
Have you had your out? Was it bad?
What should I do?

If you can get them out, paid for by your parents insurance plan now...go for it!
As for the type of procedure you choose, just remember when you are fast asleep on that hospital bed,the dentist may tend to pull a bit harder than he or she would than if you were sitting in their dentists chair in the office!
I had all four of mine out in the dentists office, just with freezing.Ya, it hurt for the better part of a week, but like yours, they had to go.
Let your Mom take care of you and make you some soups,so you don't have to eat slop.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

Many other problems might come up just a few years down the road to
complicate the procedure. I was almost 30 when I had to get mine taken out.
I was sick for almost two weeks because an infection had set in on one of the impacted WT's.

I dithered and dithered about having mine out - long enough for them to start pushing my other teeth out of perfect alignment - drat!
Perhaps if you speak with your dentist about your concerns, he/she will let you opt for simply taking a pill they give you prior to the procedures (such as a 'Valium'). Our daughter had it done this way and because she was awake throughout the procedure, it was done as gently as possible - and believe it or not, very little swelling or even pain later - and was back to school the very next day!
While outer events might make one happy or sad, happiness itself is entirely internal, and at all times completely within one's power.

It is now recommended by specialists that impacted wisdom teeth be removed between the ages of 14 and 22 years whether they are causing problems or not. Surgery is technically easier and patients recover much more quickly when they are younger. What is a relatively minor operation at 20 can become quite difficult in patients over 40. Also the risk of complications increases with age, and the healing process is slower.

I have had teeth pulled before with just shots. But not impacted ones where the thing has to be maybe broken out.
I was able to eat even with 3 holes in my mouth.
Needles are ok for me.
Not that I like them but the "not knowing whats going on" feeling I dont like. You get gassed out and you wake up...Well I am not sure.
I'm going to the dentist november 11 for teeth cleaning. I have till june 3rd before i'm 18 so I have a while to think about this.
I will prob have it done in may so I can eat cake on my B day lol

You may very well be awake the entire time. TBH (and this is somewhat funny), I fell asleep when the dentist was pulling my teeth! I woke up to find him poking me in the chest with his finger.....when I asked (and drooled on myself) what he was doing, his reply was "I thought you were dead!". Great, he thinks I'm dead, and instead of calling 911 or starting CPR, he uses his finger to poke me in the chest!
Honestly, it's not that bad. You'll be up and running in a day or 2 after you have it done. The day after I had it done, I had to go do parachute recovery in the field.....not fun though.

But, even with all that pain, I'm still glad I got them out before a infection, tooth dacay, or a tumor (yes, a tumor!!! It apparently has happened!) set in. And...let's see...free, or $1000 out of your own pocket...gee, which would I choose? (sorry...couldn't resist!
I myself am very squimish when it comes to sugery...and I did not like the thought of someone cutting open my mouth, digging into my jaw, and yanking out my wisdom teeth! So, I was GLAD when the doc put me under!!! I did not want to be awake for that!!! But, if it is true that they are more gentle when you are awake (And you don't have "issues" like me
