Launching Error please help!

Whenever I try to open scarface, an error window appears and it says

D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Cpde: 2156, facility: 2166, severity: 1

please help me, i am in desperate need in playing this game

yea, i had to install that during the installation of scarface, but it still doesnt work
