Hi all,
Im getting an ‘iexplore.exe’ error message when I go onto certain web pages:
“iexplore.exe has generated errors and will be forced to closed by Windows.
An error log is being created.”
Running XP.
Ran many anti virus apps. They found lots of stuff; however, when I go on some web pages, I still get the error.
Any suggestions?

Have you run any Spyware/Malware programs, and if so, which ones?

Run the following free web based scan from Microsoft using Internet Explorer:
Windows One Care Free Scan
Go to Windows Live Onecare Free Scan
It will say "Get a free PC safety scan"
http://safety.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm
Make sure you click "Full Service Scan" in the middle of the page and
not the "Try It Now Free" on the right side.
Allow it to download an Active X component.
Choose "Complete Scan" in the window that opens
Click "Next"
Do not click on anything else that offers you a free trial or to sign up if you live in the US.
Allow it to scan - it may take quite a while, maybe two hours or so depending on how big your hard drive is and how fragmented your registry and drive are.

I'd suggest that you don't go to the web pages that cause this. If there's only a few of them, it could be a coding problem on their end (or they could be looking for the malware that you removed). Have you tried another browser (such as Firefox) to see if this occurs with it?
This may also be an instance where removing the infection has actually caused the problem. If this is the case, you may have to repair IE in order to get it to work correctly.
If you've got SP2, the repair of IE is to uninstall and then reinstall SP2 (and go through the Windows Update process again).
