Does your primary connection go into a company wide router and then you have another router after that, that your computer plugs into?

I Have SBC Yahoo! DSL. I dont know if its static or dynamic (the one where teh IP constantly changes). My connection goes to the company linksys router and then into the SBC Yahoo Speedstream modem. For some reason, only a few sites are blocked. they just dont load, and its really irritating. I cant even access yahoo mail.

This "may" cause problems if you are in a windows domain, though.

Click on start, then settings, then control panel. Double-click on network connections and right click on your network connection and go into its properties. Your lan connection will prob be called local area connection.
Scroll down to Internet Protocol and double-click on it.
Select use the following dns servers and remove whats there (write down whats there so you can add it back after) and enter instead:
38.9.211.2
Press ok twice and then reboot. Can you access google now?

Click on start, then run, and type notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and press the ok button.
When the notepad opens, post the contents of the file here.

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
ok thats what i got
