hi guys,
had a new graphics card fitted today, so that i can run 2 monitors.( one from the vga and the other from the dvi output)
When i got the pc back, my anti virus wouldn't turn on ..... but the firewall did.
The only way i could get the anti-virus to work was to reinstall it!
I had lost my 'desktop pic' so went looking for it.......... can't find it anywhere, and when i click on
properties..... desktop.. i find all my pics from my picture folder..... none of my wallpapers?????
Anyone else ever had this happen to them?

They checked it out at the shop and said it wouldn't be a problem.
I've reset everything (after a lot of hassle) and evrything seems to be working ok now

Did you install any special drivers for the video setup? I'm just guessing here, but it could be that the programs were affected because they didn't interface with the card setup correctly (they weren't able to autodetect the change between 1 and 2 graphics cards) and weren't able to display.

When back to the shop and explained to them this morning. The problem i had was an 'over zealous' computer tech crazy.gif
He had noticed a lot of programs starting on boot up..... so he disabled them all to speed up the reboots while working on the pc.
He forgot to tell me what he'd done!!!!
By the way... the integrated graphics card has been uninstalled, i'm using the vga output and the dvi output from the new card to run the 2 monitors.
Everything is working fine now, thanks for everyones interest and help.
