The easiest way is to use Everest to determine what you already have installed and then use the wizard at Crucial.com

just go to crucial, look up your model of your computer and the web site will have complete information on the memory of your exact model.
this includes how many slots, maximum memory supported, and the exact type. -------------------- The name says it all -- 59 and holding permanently
