Hello. I use WIN XP SP 2 with a broadband connection to AOL 9.0 Security Edition. I use my WIN XP Firewall and I have the free AVG AV program and AOL's included antivirus/adware program. Both seem to do fine, but do I really need both of them? I'm possibly leaning toward keeping AVG in case I go to another ISP. I also use Ad-Aware SE Personal. Is using both of them overkill and taking up too much resources?
Any help appreciated.
Thank you, Tom.

Hey there ohfer, Use ONE AV. AVG is good.
Use ONE firewall the AVG firewall is good ( there are some more at the link below. I use Comodo) is better than the Win firewall which only monitors incoming not outgoing traffic.
Then you'll need several Anti spy/malware apps' Adaware is good
Try adding SpyBot S&D,SpywareBlaster and Spywareguard
Also a copy of Ewido to keep Trojans away
You can find all of these HERE

You are welcome ohfer
There are some helpful Ewido instructions HERE.
Don't forget to update before you run
Also better to run un safe mode
How to start Windows in Safe Mode
You didn't mention it,but you should use an alternate Firewall
