How To Allow/Allow for Session/Block Cookies In Firefox

Guide Overview
(This tutorial addresses versions of Firefox prior to version 2.0.)

The purpose of this guide, is to teach you how to set Firefox to Allow, Allow for Session, or Block, cookies from specific websites.
As you may already know, some sites require cookies for the site to work properly.
Some sites use cookies for remembering passwords, login names, etc., like Bleeping Computer.
I'm going to show you how to set Firefox to remember these sites, and allow them to set cookies on your computer.
Some sites want to set cookies which could be potentially dangerous, but definitely unwanted, such as tracking cookies, or cookies that contain personally identifiable information that you entered at the site, like E-mail addresses, home addresses, telephone numbers, etc.
I'm going to show you how to block these sites, from setting cookies.

Instructions
  • Open Firefox.

  • In the Toolbar, at the top, click Tools and select Options...
This will open the Options dialog box.

  • Click the Privacy icon, and select the Cookies tab.

  • Click the Exceptions button.
This will open the Exceptions - Cookies dialog box.

  • In the Address of web site: box, type in the URL of the site you want to Allow, Allow for Session, or Block cookies from.

  • Click the appropriate button:
Block - This will block cookies from the specific site.
Allow for Session - This will allow cookies from the specific site, but will delete them when you exit Firefox.
Allow - This will allow cookies from the specific site, to be stored on your computer.

  • When your done, click the Close button.
Note:
If you mistakenly clicked the wrong button, or later, change your mind about whether to Allow, or Block a site, click on the URL in the Site column, and then click the Remove Site button.
