Found an article at WindowsITPro that said RC1 was released.
Checked at Connect - and it was there!

I assume you are referring to IE7. A couple of days ago I read an article that quoted a rep from Microsoft as saying that Microsoft would continue to support IE6 as long as XP sp2 is supported. They were not going to abandon it. So, for us users who only use IE when updating Windows, etc. I can't see a rush to install IE7 even when it is finally released later this year. Why take a chance on it? Maybe in a year or 2.

No, I meant Vista RC1 (build 5600) has been released on the Connect website. I'm installing it as I type this!

IE6 will continue to have a lion's share of the market for (IMO) years to come. I feel that the shift to Vista won't be as rapid as some think (due to the increased hardware requirements) - so that many, many folks will continue to use XP and IE6 for years to come (heck! my wife's business upgraded from Win95 about 3 years ago!)
