I know! What's the most useless trivia you've ever come across? A buddy of mine gravely informed me that there are 336 dimples on a golf ball. -------------------- "Anyone who cannot form a community with others, or who does not need to because he is self-sufficient [...] is either a beast or a god." Keeping your mouth shut while cutting onions will also help.

The dot over the letter 'i' is called a tittle.
Most lipstick contains fish scales. The proper term for upper case letters is "majuscule" and for lower case it's "minuscule". The exclamation point came from the Latin word "Lo", meaning something important that should be heeded. (Lo and behold...) If you have three quarters, four dimes, and four pennies, you have the largest amount of money in coins without being able to make change for a dollar. (No really, try it!) The first CD pressed in the US was Bruce Springstein's 'Born in the USA.' Charlie Chaplin once won third prize in a Charlie Chaplin look alike contest. The Guinness Book of Records holds the record for being the book most often stolen from public libraries. The little plastic things on the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Peanuts are one of the ingredients of dynamite. All of the clocks in the movie "Pulp Fiction" are stuck on 4:20. Here are a few:
The original color of coca-cola was green. Tigers have striped skin, not just striped fur. All 50 states are listed across the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of a $5 bill. An apple, onion, and potato all have the same taste. The only thing that provides the difference in flavor is the smell of each. If you don't believe this is true, take a bite of each while pinching your nose closed. They should all taste sweet.
There are at least 1750 O's in each can of Spaghetti O's. SPAM stands for Shoulder Pork and hAM. No matter how you much you try, bubbles will always be round. Jeffrey Jones, Ferris Bueller's principal, is a registered sex offender/pedophile in real life. Gelatin is made from ground pigs' hooves. (Who invented this, how, and why? lol) There are about a million sensory cells in each one square patch of skin on the human body. Scientists aren't sure why we have body hair, although many believe it was merely to serve the purpose of detecting bugs on the skin. When a female spider lays her eggs, she dies. When a bee stings you, it flies away to die. EVERYONE is born with cancer cells. It is just genetics or unknown reasons that 'stir them to life'. The only part of the human body that never changes size from birth to death is the eyes. Dogs don't see colors. Bulls aren't enticed by the red color of those 'flags'. They are enticed by the movement and will 'charge' regardless of the color. The 7th most common fear of humans is the fear of vomit, AKA Emetophobia. McDonald's chicken McNuggets contain only 8% chicken. The human eye sees everything upside down. It's our brain that 'fixes' that. The 'delivery cost' of an American car is about double than that of one that is shipped from overseas. There are 3 serums used in death by injection. The first one relaxes the person. The second stops all motor skills. The third one stops breathing. Bubble gum started off being made from whale blubber. EDIT: After it was pointed out that dogs do see some color, I thought I'd check into it online. There are two parts of the retina for detecting light and color. Rods and cones. Cones are what allow us to see colors. Years ago, the theory was that dogs couldn't see colors because they had no cones in their retinas but have since discovered a few. They theorize that dogs might see some color but that can't be confirmed one way or another since a dog can't be asked what he can or can't see. Incidentally, a dog's eyes have lots of rods allowing them to see even better at night than in the daylight. This post has been edited by TexasAngel67: Jan 15 2005, 11:12 AM -------------------- |

The inventor of Pac-Man was inspired by a pizza. After he ate a few slices, it looked like an open mouth.

A "jiffy" is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second. CGM3 feels outclassed. 47% of all statistics are made up on the spot. -------------------- "Anyone who cannot form a community with others, or who does not need to because he is self-sufficient [...] is either a beast or a god." Aristotle
