Lawsuits don't keep the language from changing. Consider the following examples:

I'm going to xerox this.

I'm going to make jello.

I have velcro fastenings on my shoes. [What else can you call velcro anyway]?

I need some kleenex.

I know the first three at least have tried to stop such usage, but there hasn't been much luck in everyday speech from what I've observed.

Yeah, but unless Google activly sue people for using the word google for all kinds of stuff they will loose the trademark by default.

What are they going to do? Sue everyone in the united states and other countries for using the word google when talking to there friends?

The students won't see the tongue-twister on the computer, unless they find it themselves. I plan to write it out on the white board or print it out on a piece of paper with - by buddy215 (unless you'd like me to credit you in a different way. Send me a PM if you do.) at the bottom of the tongue-twister. The computer won't be involve for this activity.

For these classes, I use computers mainly to teach the students research skills and the names of the computer while also pounding in a few basic security lessons and some everyday language use such as "googling for ..." :flowers:

Regardless of the trademark issue, they need to understand what is meant when people say it.

Whether there's hackers in the class - well it's always a possibility, but many of them don't even understand basic functions like minimizing windows or right clicking the mouse to get a menu to copy and paste. On the other hand, I do have some students with Ph.D.'s in computer science, and my student membership changes from week to week.
