G'day All,

Just come across this article on Slipstreaming SP2 onto your Win XP installiation CD.

Hadn't a clue what this was about until I read it and now I'm hooked.

Gonna do some "slipstreaming" tonight !!!

Hmmmm......I wonder can you insert the CD Key in there as well so you don't have to type all those friggin numbers every time too ????

Does any body know ???

JackTheHaack, I did research the CD key issue, and YES, you should be able too. I simply haven't had a chance to do this yet. I also am gettin' eager to build a PE...

Pre-Installation Environment and the magnitude humbles me, as well. I never like to back down from a challenge if it looks like a reward is possible and it appears do-able, though. :trumpet:
It seems that Mr. Lagerweij has been experimenting since the days of windows 3.x. He's learned a lot since then. He likes to share the information. Give his page a thorough read, and I'm sure you'll share my enthusiasm for his project. It answers a lot of questions. :flowers:

BartsPE is a Bootable CDrom that will allow you to access virtually any Windows 2K, XP or 2K3 PC's hard drive with full Read/Write Access from within its own environment.

Knoppix LiveCD will do this as well as P.H.L.A.K.
Comes in handy when you need to recover stuff.(SAM files come to mind  )
