The clincher for me on this information and it's worth is this: November 3, 2001

If so can it be removed?
I searched for index.dat files and when I requested to open one.
There was a MS warning pop up.
I sure would like to hear the real story.
Because Im so confused.

Some folders are protected from being seen from within windows, but thats by the desktop.ini file in that folder. Delete that file and you can see the folders and files.
