Recently, I updated my Firefox to version 1.5.06 and checked to make sure all of my extensiosn & themes were working properly; everything was ok.

Then yesterday, I checked for extension updates and found out that McAfee SiteAdvisor had an update, so updated it. It was late at night yesterday when I updated it, so I didn't restart firefox to upgrade SiteAdvisor; however, today, when I started up FF, McAfee SiteAdvisor displays no color for any websites. And, when I click on SiteAdvisor to see a website's rating, it tells me that the website is Unknown!!!! Even pages like Yahoo and Google come up blank... is anyone else having issues as well?

I just got the SiteAdvisor up date also and have no problems with it in Fx or IE.

You might want to click on the SiteAdvisor Icon showing in Fx and then on
settings and make sure that the items are checked that you want to use.

when I updated to 23 Site Advisor no longer worked. I removed the program and reinstalled and it works. Tried to update in IE and could get no response. Weird.

Update: I deleted site advisor in IE and reinstalled. I got a popup after reinstallation that said "We are experiencing communication problems now"

I am having the same issues after update 23 Elendil.
There are a couple of threads about this in the Firefox forum, and I guess we are the lucky ones as some cannot use their firefox after the last update! So I am kind of afraid to uninstall/reinstall.Sounds like it's work in progress, think I'll contact McAfee via e-mail and see what kind of responds I get back.

A little update Elendil,no pun intended!
I tried a few things, first I uninstalled Site Advisor and reinstalled Version 21. It worked just fine.
Did some more readin and it was recommended to download from the uk.mcafee.com website,so uninstalled again and tried that.
Pleased to report that version 23 is up and working like it should be.
I did send off an e-mail to McAfee,by the sounds of all the problems users are reporting they'll be a while gettin back to me!

I have no clue what happened (maybe it had something to do with me switching themes?), but after I turned on my computer from its long hibernation and fired up Firefox, SiteAdvisor is working now

I actually feel its McAfee, mine isnt working either at the moment.

This actually happened to me about 3 weeks ago for a while, using version 22, which had been on my system for ages. But, it just stopped working. The next day when i loaded up, it worked fine. A week later, it did it again, and since has been fine until about an hour ago!

EDIT:
Im now running update 23,was fine earlier, but gone again. Like i said though, it started to do this for short periods on the previous version.

Ok, heres an update for anyone suffering the same issue.

In order to use version 23 without problems, you must first uninstall siteadvisor. Then go to the website and download again like you did first time around and this will install version 23, and you will be pleased to know, it will then work without any problems.

It would appear that 22 can not quite make the jump up to 23, which is why we have had problems.
I hope this helps anyone who has found this a little annoying!

Thanks gravelangel for the update and repair info.

I've yet to have experience any problems, but I've passed your info on to
an acquaintance who did have the same irritating symptoms.

TMacK, you did indeed point this out, many sorrys for misreading  your info! Well pointed out in your original post! :flowers:

I still wish to add though, that it is recommended to all to do a fresh install regardless, as some site advice may not be fully correct even after an update!

Safe browsing all!
