Ya know, thats the same argument I hear from others that are not enamored with Metal , there used to be a small percent of Christian Music that was metal (bit of a oxymoron) back in the mid80's(Bloodgood from comes to mind) and I think there are still some around today. there is some Christian Rap out there as well. But for the most part , both sides don't care for rap much (as I). Seems for the most part those who "hate" christian Music hate the thought behind it more than the music itself. To each their own poison ( pun intended)

I had to grow up listening to country, and hated the majority of it. Unfortunately, about 80% of the songs deal with country heart-break..... *shiver*
Jgweed, you also seem like you might be a jazz-man. Any basie or coltrane hidden in your cd towers?

Odd, someone saying christian music doesn't have inspiration..... Considering the people that sing believe that they have the best inspiration in the world..... The only "problem" i have w/ christian music is that the topic of the songs never really changes that much

I'd personally put them in the Pop-Rock Genre along with Nickleback,Hoobastank, Puddle Of Mudd (this is going by their lyrical content and musical style) and yes they do grace my CD case.

Nope. One word. DimeBag. I like Zakk but not as much as I like Dimebag (Pantera), Max Cavilara (Sepletura, Soulfly), Riggs (Rob Zombie), and John 5 (Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie)

Gospel is out of the qestion. Cant stand it. But some of the new "Metal Christian" bands are cool (cant name any of them) and Jars of Clay is a good acoustic band.
My Picks are
Mosh: Bury Your Dead
Hardcore Punk: Throwdown
Punk: Anti-Flag/Rancid
Nu-Metal:Slipknot
Pop-Rock: Breaking Benjamin
Rap: Kanye West (at least he had something differant to say)
Emo "like stuff": Hawthorne Hieghts
Metal Core: Avenged SevenFold
Classic Metal: Metallica
Current Country:Big & Rich/ Hank Williams III
Classic Country:Johnny Cash
As for the Best Band of all Soulfly Genre: None Phases from Thrash to Nu-Metal to Folk over all 5 albums

twee pop: architecture in helsinki
i like a lot of other genres but it would be too hard to choose who i think the best band would be for most of them.

I prefer my "Christian" music to be Handle or Gregorian Chant, etc..
Right now my favourite orchestra, in general, is the CSO, although I still respect the NYP under Bernstein, and the BP under vonKarajan.

John
