What are your other specs on your computer?
Does your computer support PCI-e? AGP? PCI?

You could look at the ATI X1600's or the Nvidia 7600's, those would probably be the most recent midrange cards both companies offer and both are priced (from a brief glance at newegg.com) between $100-200.

Secondly, it would also be a good thing to know your video card slot being AGP or PCI-e as well.

Lastly, if you can afford another $100, there is the Nvidia 7900 GT which is better and cheaper than the previous card in that line (the 7800 gt which is $400). I believe ATI is the same deal with the X1900 and the X1800.

A lot better. Also check out the HIS Radeon x1600 Pro, a really good card which wont blow your bank. I'm using one at the moment and it copes with most games, medium settings at decent resolutions.
