I was reading the tutorial on Windows XP recovery console and thought I would install it. It put in my XP disk but when I started to install it I got a messages saying that I couldn't proceed because the version of XP on my computer was a later version than the cd. Can I still install this or not? Thanks for any help.

See the following MS support article:

You receive an error message if you try to install the Recovery Console on a Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer

Hope that helps,
