Flash Player My Flash Player refuses to work

Ok this has gone on long enough. I can't see e-mails people send me and I want to watch videos and can't. I've tried to delete it and download it again but I can't delete it. It is the 9.0 version. I need help! Thanks for your time.

Adobe is harder to get rid of than long lost relatives after winning the lottery, you have to download their program to uninstall it...can you believe the temerity of these people?

Enough of my rant, you can find the information that you need to uninstall the flash player here.

Okay I believe you are right. I went to the site and used the windows unistaller because I have wnidows. Well it still didn't get rid of it because I looked in my programs and it was still there and when I tried to download it, it wouldn't download.

Unfortunately that didn't help because I can't find Shockwave Flash Player and I have looked at my programs and Flash Player is no longer there so it must have been deleted. Now I just need to figure out how to download flash player because as of right now it won't. I just get quote marks (") in the corner of the box where the flash player video is supposed to play when it is officially installed.

You do not need to uninstall an older version before installing a newer version.

If you downloaded all the recent Microsoft Updates you will have to click on a Flash on a webpage to activate it & make it work.

Okay I had to use that link. It said that it was installed but I still can't see videos or play games using flash player. I did go back and look for Flash Object and it wasn't there. So I dunno what to do.

Go to a flash game or video.
Hover the cursor on it.
Do you get a tiny text popup saying,"Click here to activate and use this control"?

Flash should be in--

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

Look & see if it is there.

EDIT--

Click on Tools in the IE Toolbar & click "Manage Add-ons".
See if Flash is enabled.

okay. i do have it in the C: drive and deleted it. i tried the update thing and that didnt work. ok i dont have manage add ons in my tools. ive looked everywhere for it. so it just keeps gettin harder.

Are you using Windows XP?

Why did you delete it from the C drive?
Now it is gone.

OK sorry about the deleteing. I have restored it so it's back. I've also enabled the ActiveX controls through internet security. Yes I'm using Windows XP

The link below is a reg file from Kelly's Korner to enable Flash in IE.
It alters the registry.
Use it at your own risk.
Backing up the registry first is a good idea if you choose to try it.
Download it & right click it & choose "Merge".
This is a direct link to the file.

If you have Flash installed,this should make it work unless something is really screwed up on your computer.
