umm.. is it a river ?

Correct!! clapping.gif

Heres the next one:

A farmer was going to town with a fox, a goose and a sack of corn. When he came to a stream, he had to cross in a tiny boat, and could only take across one thing at a time. However, if he left the fox alone with the goose, the fox would eat the goose, and if he left the goose alone with the corn, the goose would eat the corn. How does he get them all safely over the stream?

Warm regards
Kyle

Ok, Next brain teaser

I know a word of letters three. Add two, and fewer there will be. What is it?

Regards,
Djk

erm just me being awckward (sp) but i thought it was this.... three has 5 letters add two to three, which gives you five which only has 4 letters.....maybe im just being stupid or maybe even overly clever tongue.gif who knows! smile.gif

Nope. The riddle says that by adding the two letters, you will have fewer. Five is more than three, so it couldn't work. Also, "I know a word of letters three," translates to everyday English to, "I know a word with three letters."

Few has three letters. Add two letters, and you have the word fewer which has five letters. smile.gif

New brain teaser:

A man is talking to the jailer. He says: "Brothers and sisters have I none, but this man's father is my mother's son."

Who is the man's father?

Nope.

I think it will help if I slightly rephrase the brain teaser so there is less pronoun confusion.

Characters:
The man talking to the jailer - let's call him Frank
The jailer
The man in jail - let's call him Merton.

Okay now:

Frank is talking to the jailer and he says: "Brothers and sisters have I none, but Merton's father is my mother's son."

Question: Who is Merton's father?
