That would be a daunting list to say the least and would vary on every single machine.
Maybe a little easier to remember and most commonly used: Every .exe file can be launched via Start>Run. is very useful as well, has error logs etc. also, you can open almost any prgrma installed on your comp. from run. -------------------- |

You can also create your own start > run commands...
For example, I have a program called Spywareblaster. The executable is located in C:\Program Files\SpywareBlaster\spywareblaster.exe So, to create the start > run command for spywareblaster, you have to create next regfile and merge it: CODE REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\spywareblaster.EXE] @="C:\\Program Files\\SpywareBlaster\\spywareblaster.exe" When you enter spywareblaster in start > run, it will open spywareblaster now. For further clarification for what Miekies code does above:

One of my favorites and has many many uses is the subst command. This command stems from the DOS days and allows you to take any directory and make it a virtual drive letter.
This is very useful when playing older dos games. The command is: subst <drive letter> <directory> So to make the C:\wibble directory correspond to the drive F: you would type: subst N: c:\wibble To see what files are being substed you can type subst by itself like: subst To delete the virtual drive you would type: subst n: /d -------------------- Lawrence

I had a list (but can't find it now) that had the syntax to open up the different tabs in Control Panel...System without having to click on them.
But, by then the syntax got too confusing to use - so I abandoned it. Aha! I remembered where it is! It's sitting on my desk! It's on my old hard drive that crashed a while back and I can't recover anything from it! -------------------- - John

The basic console commands, incorporated into the shell itself can be found by typing help at the command prompt.
