Dang...not a one of you bible thumpers posted anything trying to relate the date of today, 060606, with the number of the beast 666, I am impressed. I was taken aback by all the hype this morning referring to the date as the number of the beast, but the Book of Revelation was written prior to our modern calender system.

For people who argue till blue in the face that we didn't land on the moon, I have to admit that I'm supprised that no one here went for this as a topic.

PS...in responding to this post, if anyone does, leave your comments regarding the moon landing in the Speak Easy.

Actually, it was 999. The monk that transcribed it had a lot of vino. Or was it Benedictine? Truth be known, it was probably a vague reference to the feared Romans.

Others sources indicate that it was a shorthand or secret code that represented the divine emporer, Nero.
Revelations is the best argument against literal interpretation of the Bible I have ever seen.

The name in Latin all popes had is:
VICARIUS FILII DEI - The Representative of God in Earth. :inlove:
For the ancient Romans the letter "U" doesn't exists, for them only exists the letter "V". :)
Thus, VICARIUS FILII DEI = VICARIVS FILII DEI. And as you know:
V = 5, I = 1, C = 100, L = 50 and D = 500, so:

V--------5»»»»»»»»»»F»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»D---------500
I---------1»»»»»»»»»»I---------1»»»»»»»»»»»»E
C-------100»»»»»»»»»L--------50»»»»»»»»»»»»I-----------1
A»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»I---------1
R»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»I---------1
I---------1
V--------5
S
__________________________________________________
""""""""112"""""""""+""""""""""53"""""""""""+"""""""""""""501 = 666

Thus, all Popes are the Beast, which means that the Beast :flowers: is the Catholic Church. What did you say to this? :trumpet: I don't want to offend anybody.

Darthy

Yeah it was maybe strange that the date came up as it did.
But I didnt give it much thought really.
The world didn't end and we are all still here.
So nothing but a coinkidinky - coincidence. LOL

And Darthy the last time I looked in the mirror I did not
resemble a beast at all. Although there are some mornings
that I may come close.... Yikes!

Yes a strange coincidence. But only a coincidence. ;)

Besides I feel that that satan and his minions already roam the earth and always have. So they do not need a date of 6-6-06 to help them in any way.
I hope I do not come off as to crazy. But that is how I look at it.

They had some stories in my paper about people freaking out and being uncomfortable with the day, but all of my christian friends had nothing to say about it (by nothing i mean the date held no significance).

BTW, darthy, you can probably make almost ANYTHING come out to be synonomous w/ 666. There was an article i read a while ago that "proved" almost 90% of presidents could be linked to 666 somehow, either through their names translated to numbers or the dates of their presidency....

I've also heard that the "evil number" is supposd to be 616, but idk if that has any more significance over the CLEARLY fearful 666...

Very funny there no_one

Add "Studio 666" for the Beast's stand-up comedy routines.
