hi yall!

ive had to do this before on this computer, but it was a very long time ago.

i remember going in & typing in certain things like ATAPI & A: this & C: that.

the computer is an old dell deminsion desktop w/ windows 98. i do not have a cd burner & my a drive is not working. this PC is just REALLY messed up & i have already saved my important stuff like pictures by emailing them to myself.

i know its a lot of work reinstalling & dowloading all the stuff & configuring everything after i do it, but this is what i REALLY want to do.

i know once i had a dell support guy & was trying to do it & he just basically had me reinstall windows 98 over & that didnt fix my problem. the only thing that fixed it was when we completely wiped it out & started over.

can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to do this? PLEASE???? i'll be your best friend! lol

Before we do, could you answer a couple of questions?

1. Do you have the 25 digit COA?

2. Do you have a windows 98 cd?

If you don't there could be a problem. Would you not like to try and work the problem out thru this forum? I am sure we can help

If your A: drive is broken, a new one costs under $10 at newegg.com. If you have Windows 98 on floppys, it would seem to me that this is what you would need. Or do you have Windows 98 on a CD?
