So I’m a huge comedy fan and I thought I’d start this thread to share some of my favorite routines with y’all. I doubt I’ll get to it every day, but I’ll try to get to it at least a few times a week. Here’s the first installment:

Listen to Marketing & Advertising by Bill Hicks : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/12409846

(to listen to it you have to do a quick register w/ Napster, but all they need is a valid e-mail address, and you don’t have to sign up for anything). Oh, and feel free to post your favorites!

Well, i don't have any clips, but my fav stand-up comics are Mitch Hedberg (my all-time fav), Gabriel Iglesias (GO SHREK!!), Alonzo Bodden (sp?), and, of course, Richard Pryor

I love Mitch Hedberg and Richard Pryor. Actually, question about Mitch: do you know of any stand-up video footage of him other than the two comedy central things that are on one DVD that I got from netflix? My favorite Mitch line: I used to do a lot of drugs. I still do, but I used to too.

Currently this gentleman is my favorite male comedian: Listen to American Dream by Eddie Izzard : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/15219604

i love mitch hedberg, but he's really the only guy i listen to. i always like hearing greg giraldo's 'underwear goes inside the pants' act, though.

Yeah wiseacre, he did some shows in "just for laughs" on Comedy central a while ago, there's also some footage of him on Conan and Letterman.

I actually saw a bit of him on Comedy Central's "Remix" show thingy.... hilarious, i have ALL of his stuff.

Oh, and if you like him, check out a guy named Demitri Martin. Very similar style, and *almost* as funny. Jeremy Hotz is good too, but with a slightly more "story" style.

Oh very cool, thanks for the recommendations. I think I've seen Demitri Martin on Comedy central once or twice. So sad that Mitch left us early, when I look at comedians with really long careers it makes me think about what could have been.

This is currently my favorite George Carlin routine, but it's a hard choice, the man's got a 45+ year career: Listen to Advertising Lullabye by George Carlin : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/13782351

Here is one of my favorites!

Ron White said:

" i will now do a comentary for you of my friend... afer the big kill...*lights stiogie*
'ya well it was four in the mornin'. it was 22 degrees outside. Course you weren't there...p***y. I've got grease on my face. I'm covered head to toe in camoflauge. I've got deer urine on my boots... I'm not sure why... "I made that part up!" ' I've got a deer rifle with a bullet that will travel 22 hundred feet per second. When that deer went to lick the salt sucker from the dang'd ol' tree *sticks out tounge* caught 'im right above the eye.'

" ya well i hit one with a van!! goin 55 miles an hour, AND THE HORN BLOWIN'!! "

"Actually if you ever miss a deer, it's because the bullet's travelin' too fast. I'm convinced that if you slow the bullet down to 55 mph, put a little horn, and some headlights on it, the deer will actually jump infront of the bullet. whew that's an illusive little creature!"

Yes I love George Carlin's stuff! He's got so many great lines!

One of my favorites of him

That last George Carlin bit is also one of my favorites. I love that whole routine about flying in planes. I have often listened to it... on the plane. It's crazy to think that I've been listening to George since I was 7 years old (behind my parents back, and I didn't understand half of it, but still). So many of his routines have a nostalgic attachment for me.

I've seen this lady live, and she's funny as hell and definitely insane. Anyone seen "The Comedians of Comedy"? She was on that. Listen to Hollywood Standards by Maria Bamford : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/15209170

Carlin is the man. He's almost anti-everything. I used to watch his specials all the time at NCSU when i had HBO and Showtime....

And you're right yano, a lot of his stuff can't be copied and pasted..... You'd see too many "bleep"s to make it readable.... lol.
