BleepingComputer.com: Place Two Images Next To Each Other

Hi!

I have two seperate images saved in "My Pictures," and I want to get them next to each other, with a small space between the two, and then saved as one image. The reason I want to do this, in case it makes a difference, is that I want to put the image in my blog. When I tried to put the two pictures next to each other without having it saved as one image, it didn't work. I thought it would be easier to just save it as one image in Irfanview or GIMP and then upload it to my blog.

I've tried to do this in GIMP already, but I don't know what I'm doing well enough to get it to work. I'll use whichever program is easier to work with. Can anyone help me out with this?

I use Paint to do that.

Open an image you want to go on the LEFT first.

Drag the image place holder big enough to hold the next image by placing the cursor on the tiny dots at the right bottom corner or the middle & holding the left mouse button & dragging to the right & or right & down.

Then click on Edit & choose Paste From.
Select the next image.

It will get pasted right on top the existing image to the top & left.
Place the cursor on it & press the left mouse button & drag it to the right to move it.
Get it where you want it.
Click outside the image holding area to set the new composit.
Use the tiny dots to shrink up the area if needed after the second image is added & set.
If you do shrink up the area,click on the paint brush or line icon to set the shrunk up area.

Then save it as .jpg or .gif or whatever.
All done.

In Irfanview.
Open it.
Go to Image
Click on Create Panorama Image
Add Images
Select 1st Image
Click Open
Add Image again
Select 2nd Image
Click Open again
Create Image
Go to File and Save As

Or alternatively use MS Publisher. However paint is what i use too for that process.
