Hello everybody. I am trying to find a free photo editing/organizer program that will allow me to first make a calender with pictures on it or any kind of other greeting card formats. I also would like to be able to edit and post my images on a websites. I would also like to be able to make a collasge and be able to but multiple pictures on one frame. I heard of GIMP and Inkscape but I dont know if their right for me.

Hello,

Have you tried Picasa? I believe it can accomplish what you need, and it is free. I suggest clicking on the Take a tour of Picasa link. It has all the information on what the program can do for you.

If you have and use a digital camera, it may have come with software that does many of these tasks. Also, if you bought your computer from a retailer such as Dell or Gateway, you may have gotten a version of Microsoft Works that may include Picture It! software, it is also another all-in-one picture editor. Just a little food for thought.

The GIMP and Inkscape are more for image rendering and creation than for picture tasks, but that is not to say that they can't be accomplished.

Hope this helps,

nos

There are some freeware applications mentioned in this BC topic that you might explore:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.html

With the exception of calendar making which I do not do, I have found Irfanview and Picassa enough for my amateur needs for editing and organising pictures. You can always try the free applications and see which you like.
Regards,
John
