Japan's Toshiba Corp released a press release today stating Guinness World records has declared that their .85" Hard Disk Drive is considered the smallest in the world.
With their size being a little larger than a quarter, these hard drives are perfect for storage in hand-held devices such as MP3 players, digital cameras, and Cell phones. Currently these hard drives only have a capacity of 4GB, but that is more than enough for many storage needs. At that capacity a device can store over 1,000 MP3s or almost 4,000 high quality digital images. Apple iPods currently use Toshiba's 1.8" hard drives, but with the release of these smaller .85" devices, potentially even more compact versions of the iPod may be released. -------------------- Lawrence
