So I just discovered I hate compaq computers, I mean, what's up with all that weird non-standard hardware? You can't just switch (24-pin) power supplies if yours gets broken, no, you have to freaking BUY ONE FROM THEM. Pigs. I'm never EVER buying a compac PC EVER again.

What I find especially sad is how the average PC user swallows this evil rubbish so easily. But I guess taking advantage of others' ignorance is what business is all about. Oh well...

So, do YOU hate Compaq too?

I feel your pain, but sad to say that is common practic for the big name computer companies (Dell Emachine, HP, Compaq,..).

The main thing i hate about emachines is the inability to overclock the system.... I've looked everywhere in the bios, and there's nothing to do with setting timings or anything.... I've also checked the hardware itself and there are no jumpers or switches. After scanning the net, i've found that emachines have pretty much no capacity beyond how they were made...... bleh.

My ex-girlfriend had a compaq (ancient) and it worked fine until they decided to get a new one. Fortunately they didnt' have to deal with any hardware problems, so i can't say that i know what's going on, lol.
